A beautiful E+ week

Si bien preparar y organizar como huéspedes una acogida en nuestra Escuela, no es una tarea fácil por todo lo que conlleva, después de vivir esta última semana con nuestros socios europeos todos esos momentos y actividades previstas (y también las no previstas), todo vale la pena, y ese esfuerzo, se convierte en satisfacción.

Sin duda, era un reto extra, ya que por primera vez los alumnos eran alojados en familias de acogida (mil gracias a todas ellas!), así que nuestros chicos y chicas junto con los de Mendelova střední škola (Rep. Checa), Zespol Szkol Technicznych i Placowek im. St. Staszica Nowym Targu (Polonia) y Fjolbrautaskoli Nordurlands vestra (Islandia) han podido disfrutar aún más si cabe la experiencia E+ con esa inmersión local.

Tras presentarles Alcoi y nuestras cosas: S. Jordi, gastronomía, historia, filà, industria (visitamos “Aceitunas el Serpis”), puentes, Alcoyano… y al más estilo “Champions” se repartieron en equipos con diferentes nacionalidades para entrenar y “competir” en diseño 3D de souvenirs, creación  de logos y de una tienda virtual donde poder vender sus productos.

Con una visita a la vecina localidad de Ibi, pudimos conocer lo último en impresión 3D y realidad virtual de la mano de los técnicos de AIJU, y también tuvimos la ocasión de disfrutar del mundo de los videojuegos en el Museo del Arcade. También, y ya en nuestra Escuela, les enseñamos todos los proyectos que estamos preparando para el próximo Alcoibot y realizaron un taller de Arduino para que hiciesen sus primeros pinitos en el mundo de la robótica.

La parte deportiva la compartimos con nuestros amigos de Gormaget, que vinieron a explicarles cómo se jugaba a la Boccia y que sirvió para estrenar nuestra nueva pista. Sin duda unos momentos muy divertidos y alegría que rematamos con la “dinner party”, una fiesta a la que acudieron alumnos, profes y familias y en donde, a ritmo de DJ Pablo, se puso en común todo lo vivido y se aprovechó para conocer mejor otras culturas y costumbres.

El último día, y con todo el trabajo hecho, se aprovecharon las fechas y el tiempo que hacía para visitar Valencia y sus Fallas: mascletà, ninots, playa, multitudes… turismo total.

Ahora ya sólo queda esperar el próximo encuentro, que será en Islandia, para poder volver a tener, seguro, otros buenos momentos y experiencias.

A beautiful E+ week

Although preparing and organizing a host family stay in our school is not an easy task because of all that it entails, after living this last week with our European partners all those moments and activities planned (and also those not planned), everything is worth it, and that effort becomes satisfaction.

Undoubtedly, it was an extra challenge, since for the first time the students were accommodated in host families (a thousand thanks to all of them!), so our boys and girls together with those from Mendelova střední škola (Czech Rep.), Zespol Szkol Technicznych i Placowek im. St. Staszica Nowym Targu (Poland) and Fjolbrautaskoli Nordurlands vestra (Iceland) have been able to enjoy even more the E+ experience with that local immersion.

After introducing them to Alcoi and our things: S. Jordi, gastronomy, history, filà, industry (we visited «Aceitunas Serpis»), bridges, Alcoyano… and in the most «Champions» style, they were divided into teams with different nationalities to train and «compete» in 3D design of souvenirs, creation of logos and a virtual shop where they could sell their products.

With a visit to the neighbouring town of Ibi, we were able to learn about the latest in 3D printing and virtual reality from AIJU technicians, but we also had the opportunity to enjoy the world of video games in the arcade museum. Also, and already in our school, we showed them all the projects we are preparing for the next Alcoibot and they did an Arduino workshop so that they could make their first steps in the world of robotics.

The sporting part was shared with our friends from Gormaget, who came to explain how to play Boccia and served to premiere our new track. Undoubtedly some very fun and joyful moments that we finished off with the «dinner party», a party attended by students, teachers and families and where, to the rhythm of DJ Pablo, we shared everything we had experienced and we took the opportunity to get to know other cultures and customs better.

On the last day, and with all the work done, we took advantage of the dates and the weather to visit Valencia and its Fallas: mascletà, ninots, beach, crowds… total tourism.

Now we can only wait for the next meeting, which will be in Iceland, to be able to have, for sure, other good moments and experiences again.
