Tras un cambio en la planificación debido a las restricciones por la pandemia, no se pudo celebrar la competición en Austria. No obstante, gracias a la coordinación entre Austria y República Checa, finalmente se llevó a cabo la III “competición” del programa Erasmus+ “ICT Competitions for increasing the quality of secondary education” en la escuela Mendelova střední en Nový Jičín (República Checa) la semana pasada, del 8 al 12 de noviembre.
En este caso, la prueba consistía en que los estudiantes desarrollaran sus habilidades informáticas en el uso de la hoja de cálculo y creación de gráficas.
Durante la mañana del martes se crearon los grupos para realizar un ejercicio de repaso y que los alumnos fueran conociéndose entre sí. Los cinco grupos estaban formados por cuatro alumnos de los países participantes: España, representados por Sergi, Alba, Josemi y Mauro; Portugal y República Checa de forma presencial, y los compañeros de Austria y Eslovenia de forma on-line.
El miércoles por la mañana se realizó la competición internacional y los grupos tuvieron 90 minutos para poder hacer los tres ejercicios de la hoja de cálculo y la creación de gráficas. Todos los estudiantes se esforzaron mucho para realizarlos.
Y además de la “competición”, también se llevaron a cabo dos talleres sobre Creatividad y modelos de negocios y de Tinkercad, donde profesores y alumnos pudieron diseñar un llavero ICT que posteriormente se imprimieron para tener de recuerdo. También se realizaron actividades culturales, como visitar el sky walk en Pustevny, dar una vuelta y ver el minizoo de Stramberk, sus castillos y pasear por Olomouc. Los estudiantes asimismo pudieron disfrutar de una cena con sus compañeros jugando a los bolos el martes por la noche.
El viernes por la mañana se celebró la ceremonia de entrega de certificados y se dieron a conocer los resultados, en la que dos de nuestros alumnos, Josemi y Sergi, quedaron en primer y tercer lugar, respectivamente. Después de la ceremonia, estudiantes y profesores visitaron la Torre y el Museo del Sombrero en Nový Jičín. Nuestro equipo también pudo disfrutar de la ciudad de Viena el viernes por la tarde y el sábado por la mañana antes de coger el vuelo de vuelta a España.
Por último, pero no menos importante, damos la enhorabuena a todos los estudiantes que han formado parte de esta tercera competición ICT2, por participar en esta experiencia única que esperemos que siempre recuerden y agradecer a la escuela Mendelova střední de Nový Jičín el increíble trabajo llevado a cabo con tan poco tiempo de margen.

Erasmus+ in Czech Republic: A week to remember
The third ICT2 “competition” was held in the Czech Republic last week.

Due to the new pandemic restrictions in Austria, the competition could not be held there. However, a change in the programme was made and thanks to the coordination between Austria and the Czech Republic, the III “competition” of the Erasmus + program “ICT Competitions for increasing the quality of secondary education” was finally held at the Mendelova střední school in Nový Jičín (Czech Republic) last week, from 8th – 12th November.
In this case, the test consisted of students developing their computer skills in the use of the spreadsheets and creation of charts.
On Tuesday morning, the groups were arranged to make a review exercise and for the students to get to know each other, since the five groups were made up of four students from the participating countries: Spain, represented by Sergi, Alba, Josemi and Mauro; Portugal and the Czech Republic in person, and students from Austria and Slovenia were connected on-line.
On Wednesday, the International Competition started and the groups had 90 minutes to complete the three exercises of the spreadsheet and creating the charts, where all the participants worked hard to perform them.
But not everything was “the competition”, there were two workshops on Creativity and business models and Tinkercad, where teachers and students were able to design an ICT keychain. Cultural activities were also held, such as visiting the sky walk in Pustevny, taking a walk and seeing the Stramberk mini-zoo, its castles, and strolling through Olomouc. The students were also able to enjoy a bowling party on Tuesday night.
On Friday morning, the ceremony was held and the results were announced, in which two of our students were first and third place. After the ceremony, students and teachers visited the Tower and the Hat Museum in Nový Jičín. Our team was also able to enjoy the city of Vienna on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning before departing.
Last but not least, we want to congratulate all the students that have taken part in the ICT2 Competition for living this unique experience we hope they all always remember, and thank the Mendelova střední school of Nový Jičín for all the amazing work and activities prepared in such a short time.
